Hickey no help

Ms. Hickey:

I know that my wife has already responded to your email; now here is my reply.

We had a conversation yesterday, Friday May 30th afternoon with about 3 working hours left in the week. The outcome of our conversation was that you would provide us with:

  • a direct phone number to a
  • specific person at USCIS
  • with authority to handle this case
  • whom you would name
  • and establish an introduction to our unique case
  • prior to us contacting that person at USCIS
  • leaving time for us to establish contact prior to my return flight to the US on June 1st.
  • and finally telephone us on our cell phone.

These 8 points were reiterated by both myself and my wife over the phone and agreed to by you.

What you have done is to regurgitate to us in your email information which we gave to you in our phone conversation and accompany it with the "800" number freely available on the website. You have done nothing that was requested of you and agreed to by you on Friday. The presentation of such bland information in these circumstances is insulting.

It also should be noted that you were made aware of the issue on Tuesday when the Embassy in Riga informed you of our problems. Since then it does not appear to us that you have made any progress communicating with your sister federal department, USCIS.

What am I or another person supposed to think of this effort? If you are lacking the authority to handle this problem, please have the courtesy to refer this issue to one of your superiors who has.

Please keep in mind a little girl's future in an orphanage or our home is left undecided.

We have lost a valuable opportunity to coordinate efforts, establish protocols and plan a course of action with both my self, my wife and our extensive file for the I-600 prepared in accordance with USCIS direction.
Which parts should I bring, or leave with Ilze? What further documentation if any should I bring or leave here? There are many more questions now not possible to ask.

We are not happy.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Earner,
I was able to reach USCIS, and explained your situation. The following are phone numbers to contact the USCIS National Benefits Center, which is responsible for approving I-800A and I-800 petitions:
Toll Free Number: 877-424-8374
Toll Number: 816-251-2770
Please read very carefully the instructions for filing the I-800A and I-800, and contact USCIS directly with any questions you have regarding the requirements. Please also note that it is very important that you do not take legal custody of Kristina prior to filing your I-800.
If you have any questions related to processing your visa application at the U.S. Embassy in Riga please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Patricia Hickey (TIsh)
